A deal has been struck between Microsoft and Hewlett-Packard to set Windows Live search as default option on later’s consumer PCs starting in January. The computers will also carry a toolbar that uses Microsoft’s Silverlight in conjunction with Live Search.

Akamai Technologies, Inc. in its report has said that China and US are the leading sources of hacking attacks, especially against Windows systems. Akamai provides distributed computing platform for global Internet content and application delivery.
Brazil, India and South Africa have appealed International Organization for Standardization (ISO) against adopting Microsoft sponsored Office Open XML (OOXML) file format as international standard. Office Open XML (also referred to as OOXML or OpenXML) is an electronic document format, and a proposed ISO standard for representing spreadsheets, charts, presentations and word processing documents.
Adobe has launched Acrobat online which is a set of services – file sharing and storage, PDF converter, online word processor, web conferencing – you can use to create and share documents, communicate in real time, and simplify working with others from anywhere.
A desktop supercomputer named FASTRA that uses four NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2 graphics cards and costs less than 4000EUR has been built. This was announced by researchers at the University of Antwerp in Belgium.
