Google launching new tool for advertisers

June 23rd, 2008 by Kiyani ~ No Comments

On Tuesday Google is going to launch a new tool aimed at advertisers that measures Internet use and identifies the best places to buy ads that will reach target audience.

According to advertising executives who have been briefed on it, the tool is intended to help identify the best places to buy online ads by telling them which Web sites their target audiences visit.

It will compete with services offered by established leaders Nielsen Media Research (NMR) and ComScore. Both companies provide Internet audience measurement for advertising agencies, publishers, marketers and financial analysts.

The main difference between the services offered by these companies and Google is, they base their estimations on selective surveys or customer panels, while Google’s results would be based on data collected from Web servers, providing a deeper and broader picture of Internet behavior.

It is not known if the new tool will be integrated with existing AdWords program or will be offered separately.
