Almost 70 percent US users prefer Google over Yahoo and Microsoft

July 16th, 2008 by Kiyani ~ No Comments

This may not come as a surprise that almost 70 percent users in USA prefer Google over Yahoo and Microsoft when it comes to search.

According to a new study released by analyst firm Hitwise, Google’s search share increased from 68.29 percent in May to 69.17 percent in June.

Hitwise is an internet monitor which collects data directly from ISP networks and bands the aggregate usage information into commercial verticals like travel, finance and retail, etc.

The figures released by Hitwise which are based on a sample of 10 million U.S. Internet users, show that Yahoo dropped from 19.95 percent to 19.62 percent and Microsoft dropped from 5.89 percent to 5.46 percent.

It should be interesting to note that Ask.com which is at fourth place has managed to eke out gains over the last year, though it slid from 4.23 percent to 4.17 percent from May to June.
