China manufactures world’s cheapest laptop

A Chinese manufacturer Carapelli Ltd. is selling world’s cheapest laptop at a price tag of $130.

Impulse NPX-9000, the laptop from Chinese province Guangdon, comes with 400 MHz MIPS CPU and 128 MB RAM. It has a 7″ analog screen and 1 GB of flash memory which will serve as Hard Disk.

Although its price is just $130, it is available only at bulk order of 100 units.

But it sure beats the One Laptop Per Child (OPLC) which costs $188.

Full Impulse NPX-9000 features are:

  • 400 MHz MIPS CPU
  • 7″ Analog Screen
  • 128 MB SDRAM
  • 1 GB Flash Memory
  • 80 Key English Keyboard & Touch Pad
  • Linux O.S.
  • Connectors: SD Card Slot, VGA Port, USB x 3, Mini USB, Microphone and Earphone Jack
  • AC Adaptor and Accessories
  • External USB LAN or 802.11g WiFi dongle (optional)
