Get ready for CUDA coding contest from Nvidia

Want to earn some cash while programming in C? Well, here is your chance!

Nvidia has launched CUDA coding contest to test your C coding talent on CUDA. The CUDA Toolkit is a C language development environment for CUDA-enabled GPUs made by Nvidia.

Following is the current challenge according to Nvidia CUDA Coding Contest website.

Create a MP3 encoder that runs on a CUDA-enabled GPU by taking a modified version of LAME as we provide and modify its source code to allow the encoding to be performed on a CUDA-enabled GPU. Your encoder must be created using the CUDA programming environment and must achieve a speedup in run-time.

In short users will be need to create a program that will speed up MP3 encoding on a CUDA-enabled GPU.

All entries will be tested using the same sound file on a single PC running Linux and the winner will receive US$5,000.00 cash prize.

Last date for submission of entries is 25th July, 2008.
