Yesterday Intology.com came under DDOS attack due to which users faced problems in accessing the website.
The attack started at around 6 AM EDT and lasted for over 2 hours.
According to the details given by our service provider, the website was seeing more than 7000 requests per minute. They temporarily disabled access to the website and when they enabled access again, the attackers came back hard with over 50,000 requests per minute.
The origin of the attack is not known.
A denial-of-service attack (DoS attack) or distributed denial-of-service attack (DDoS attack) is an attempt to make a computer resource unavailable to its intended users. One common method of attack involves saturating the target (victim) machine with external communications requests, such that it cannot respond to legitimate traffic, or responds so slowly as to be rendered effectively unavailable.
The service provider was finally able to stop it after two hours. We apologize for any inconvenience caused to the users.
