Microsoft has launched a new program called “Live Search Cash Back” which allow users to earn cashback savings based on a percentage of the product price.
According to the world’s largest software maker this literally means “The Search That Pays You Back”.
It works like this:
- You search millions of products from hundreds of brand name stores on live.com
- Earn cashback savings based on a percentage of the product price
- Your savings will be paid to you via your choice of a deposit to your PayPal account, direct deposit to your bank account, or a check in the mail.
According to the reports, this program is based on Microsoft’s acquisition last year of Jellyfish, which has been piloting such a program.
It is totally free but only available to residents of USA at the moment.

This is not the first time Microsoft has tried to use financial incentives to boost its search share. Last year it launched program called Live Search Club that offer rewards for those that use its search. It briefly boosted Microsoft’s search market share last year, but the gains have proved short lived and now Microsoft has been losing ground since then.
