A survey by Evans Data, a market research company, has revealed that more developers prefer Windows XP over Windows Vista when it comes to developing applications.
They survey questioned 380 US software developers and found that just eight per cent are developing applications for Vista.
| Even though Windows Vista’s worldwide release was more than 16 months ago, programmers still prefer to write softwares for Windows XP, Windows 2003 and Linux. Almost half the respondents are focusing development efforts on Windows XP, while more than one in 10 are still writing applications for Windows 2003. Linux was the preferred development platform for a further nine per cent of those questioned. John Andrews, president of Evans Data said:
