Computerized method estimates geographic location of photos using Flickr

Researchers at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh have devised a computerized method named “IM2GPS” that can analyze a single photograph and determine where in the world the image likely was taken using Flickr database. It searches through millions of GPS-tagged images in the Flickr online photo collection to estimate where a photo was taken.
